Pink Trench Coat

Happy 2017! I hope everyone had a great New Year’s and got to recharge a little over the Holidays. I spent some time in Winnipeg over the break, and while the city is generally known for the excessive amount of snow it receives, we did get some beautiful sunny days (which is when we shot this look!).

As you’ll quickly notice, my fav things to wear are denim, and anything black, but I’ve been loving the blush shade popping up in almost every store! I really don’t own much pink, but during my Holiday Shopping I added two new pink pieces to my wardrobe, one being this coat , and the other this Satin dress (shown at the bottom of this post).

Given that my wardrobe consists of mainly neutrals, I found this shade of pink really easy to pair things with, and as I mentioned that I love denim & black, that is exactly what I went for with this coat.

Since I’m living in Canada, it’s no doubt I own numerous turtlenecks. Normally the point of a turtleneck would be for warmth, but this one (similar here) is 100% for looks. It’s perfect to wear either under a jacket, on its own for a date night look, or under a silky tank or slip dress.

Who else is stoked that velvet is having a strong comeback?! I just picked up these Velvet booties (again during my Christmas shopping, never fails); I am usually all about the chunky heel, but these ones are so easy to wear AND on sale!

And fringe!! I always feel cool when I’m wearing fringe. If you aren’t into it as much, try it out on an accessory like this bag (similar here), or a pair of shoes (like this or this). Be sure to stick to black, grey or deep blues/purples, otherwise you may look like you’ve walked out of a Western movie, and I’m not about that.

As I mentioned above, I wanted to show you the pink maxi dress I also just picked up. I styled it over a black turtleneck and black booties while out for a coffee date with my friend Victoria over the break (check out her blog here!).

Happy New Year! Pink has been so in this season eh? I feel that for boys and girls alike there has been a lot of blush tones on the market which is quite a surprising colour choice for winter apparel but I LOVE IT.

I know, I’m seeing it everywhere, and I’m so not a pink person, but it feels like I’m becoming one! We recently moved, and I almost used the salmon shade to decorate, but my boyfriend quickly said no to that LOL. I have my eye on a blush faux fur jacket, we’ll see!
