2 days until it’s Christmas! Where has December gone?! I love this time of the year, with the countless parties and gatherings taking place, it’s the perfect excuse to get dressed up in a new sparkly dress, or shoes. It’s also the best time to play around with some different Holiday make-up looks, I always like either a bold rep lip or dark smoky eyes… really anything goes!
On the flip side, the Holidays are busy(!!), so I don’t always have the time to spend an hour (my boyfriend would claim I take much more than an hour) getting ready . In addition to that, the late nights and one too many cocktails (or red wine in my case) can really take a toll on my skin.
For those days that I’m on a time-crunch (which is 99% of the time) and in need of a SKIN RESCUE, I love Flawless by Friday’s ‘Flawless in 15 Gold & Honey’ line. I.am.obsessed! While their weekly mask system is also great, their Flawless in 15 products, are a savior to my skin in literally 15 minutes. Combined with a few extra make-up steps, you’re looking extra flawless in no time and ready for that Christmas dinner with the in-laws or happy hour with the girlfriends.
The Flawless in 15 line has three different aspects, I first used the Facial Mask System which focuses on reducing the look of puffiness, decreasing the appearance of redness, and boosting radiance (definitely all necessary during this season), all in 15 minutes! It comes in two halves so that it fits perfectly to any face!
I then used the Under Eye Rescue, which is perfect to depuff the eye area, boost radiance & fight signs of aging. While you could probably use these on a different day than the Facial Mask, I didn’t because I especially love the Flawless by Friday eye products. They feel SO amazing, and I always want to leave them on longer than necessary.
The last step I used from the line was the lip serum, one that plumps, hydrates and is also anti-aging (we’re not getting any younger people!). This one gives a slight tingling feeling, which is what you want for the plumping affect. It left my lips so smooth, and I keep this in my purse, because I love a good lip product! You could wear this on its own for a sheen shimmery look, or as a serum before lipstick, which is what I did here.
15 minutes later my skin feels radiant, refreshed and regenerated.
To finish up my quick Holiday make-up look I put on my Lancome bronzer, which I am desperately in need of this time of the year! I brush it slightly under my cheek bones to give a more contoured look, then along the outer areas of my face where the light would naturally hit, such as your forehead and temples.
I follow this with bold eyeliner; this is an easy way to take your make-up look from day to night. I use a liquid liner in black by Lancome and the tip is so fine that it allows you to fully control the size of the line. I added a bit of length to the line for a winged look as I think it looks more nightwear this way, but you can play around with it!
Last, I always finish with a lip (I think I own about 50 lipsticks!!). I just got this one from MAC Cosmetics, and I use it regardless of the occasion. It would fall under the ‘nude’ lip category, but I like that it is a bit richer than a traditional nude. I like to line my lipsticks so that everything looks in place, and the liner I used here is also from MAC.
And 20 minutes later, my skin is fresh, make-up is done, and I am ready to take on the Holiday hustle.
