If you’ve been following me for a while now, then you know I love to eat out. If not, then now you know. For me it’s not just about the food, but it’s about the total experience about going out to eat. It’s a great opportunity to socialize, whether that’s catching up with old friends, having a date night, or just being in a new and different environment.
Brunching is a common weekend affair for me, and I often get asked about where to eat in Toronto, so I thought I would start a list of places I’ve gone to and enjoyed for the infamous avocado toast. This will be an ongoing list, and I will update as I try out more spots in TO.
One of the better avocado toasts I’ve had in Toronto. I went for a weekday breakfast and the portion was shockingly big! While usually I would have my avo toast with poached eggs, these eggs were prepared scrambled and they were perfectly light and fluffy. They did not disappoint with the avocado either. I couldn’t even finish!
One thing to note, I recently went again on a Sunday (literally for the avocado toast), and it was not the same. The portion was smaller and the eggs were poached – menu change? Not too sure. Regardless, was still great, but not as good as I initially had.
I recently brunched at La Palma with a few other blogger babes, and while it’s down the street for me, it was the first time I had been! To note, the interior and aesthetic of the restaurant is gorgeous (definitely Instagram worthy). Highly recommend the avocado toast there, I added 1 poached egg, and it was delish! They pair theirs with a frisee salad, and I couldn’t get enough of it… would love the dressing recipe.
Definitely one of the best avocado toasts I’ve had in Toronto, need to go back ASAP… yumm! I love that they add feta to theirs (I add it to mine when I make at home too). Really good portion size on a big piece of sourdough bread. Make sure you have the fries as your side!!
Love this little café in general – a good spot to go for a more casual breakfast/brunch or coffee. Their avocado toast is simple and hits the spot. I think their eggs benedict is actually cooler with the beet (aka pink) hollandaise sauce; definitely insta worthy.
It’s been a while since I’ve been there specifically for brunch, and I also think they’ve moved from downtown to Yorkdale mall, but definitely a place worth mentioning! I always love the vibes at Collette and their avocado toast is delish too, especially when paired with a crisp rosé!
If you have any note worthy spots for me to try out/add to the list comment below! Again, I’ll update as I go!
